For those people playing Pokemon competitively, EVs and IVs matter. You have to admit not a lot of people care about that, especially if what they only like is to play with their friends in a "friendly" random way. But training Pokemon for competitive battles sometimes takes a long time. Thankfully, the next Pokemon game introduces two new ways for us to train our Pokemon, even outside of battles. Read more here on our Pokemon blog:
Super Training
Super Training are mini games that, when completed, increases the Pokemon's effort values. One of the mini games, which was detailed by CoroCoro magazine is where the player shoots ball in an opposing goal while preventing the opponent from shooting in his goal.
Core Training
Core training is like passive Super Training. Training bags are unlocked by players when they play the Super Training mini games. These bags, when given to the Pokemon, increase their effort values. This also means that spending time with Super Training mini games, also yields items, which will be used for core training. It's like striking twice with just one swing, right?
Overall, this is a wonderful new addition that is going to be implemented in the upcoming Pokemon X and Y. Who would have thought that the Mega Pokemon are the biggest thing to come? Looks like there are still other things that the Pokemon company will announce. We just have to stay tuned.
