Pokemon X and Y Offers Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle as Gifts by a Professor - A Rumor

I don't typically write on my Pokemon blog my reactions to rumors. But here's one - Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander are set to appear in Pokemon X and Y. Wow.

I think, it is a big lie.

Still, according to the report, during the course of the player's journey, he'll eventually come across a certain Professor Sycamore. Sycamore will give the player one of the three original starters in the Pokemon series. To further lengthen the rumor post, it added that the Pokemon Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle will look slightly different because of the updated graphics in Pokemon X and Y.

It's as if no other Pokemon will get a graphic update.

Rumors such as these make everyone become hyped around the game. In this case, this rumor is trying to play with our nostalgia. I know, there are some people who buys a game because their favorite character's in it. My friend bought Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 because of Phoenix Wright's addition to the character roster. There are also some people who buy games because of an old sense of familiarity - just like Pokemon's very own HeartGold and SoulSilver (boy, those two are a better experience than D and P and R and S, in my own opinion).

Still, like everything else, rumors such as this ultimately makes the overall interest for Pokemon X and Y to significantly rise. If it is true, I'm sure us older fans (who can now qualify for the Master's Division because of our age!) will be delighted (day 1 purchase!). If it is not true, well, things will stay in the same way. We're still going to play Pokemon X and Y. Agreed?
