Like an extraordinary news that came out of nowhere, Hiro Mashima, the creator of Rave and the hit series Fairy Tail is going to contribute to Capcom's Monster Hunter 4 his expertise design.
What's he designing anyway? Equipments.
Did the game got delayed to have Hiro-san on board? I don't know. Manga artists collaborating in video games are nothing extraordinary since those have historically happened time and time again. I remember that news when CLAMP provided Tekken 6's Jin Kazama a new costume design.
But Monster Hunter 4 is a big game, not just for Capcom but for the Nintendo 3DS as well. The franchise breathed new life for Sony's PlayStation Portable console. It did its magic last year for the 3DS when it, together with 2 Mario games, captured a large chunk of video game sales in Japan.
Fairy Tail is an extremely popular franchise as well. Putting the name of its artists side by side Monster Hunter 4 can be a notifier for Fairy Tail fans to try Monster Hunter as well (if they haven't already)
