Nintendo 3DS eShop in May; Full List of Features Here

a not-yet final screenshot from Nintendo
With all the clamor and different news about when the 3DS eShop will be dated, the Nintendo CEO himself, Satoru Iwata stated in an investors gathering that it will launch in May with the first firmware update. Here is a list of what's happening in May and in the future (with another firmware update) with your 3DS (should you ever have one at that time, which of course you will :)).

  • You can download a free web browser.
  • You can transfer your DSi ware titles from your DSi into your 3DS. This is something that did not happen with the DSi and its larger and upgraded version. :)
  • Transfer of downloaded software from one 3DS to another. This is cool since you need not to buy again something you already downloaded from them.
  • Game videos and Demos are also available via the eShop.
  • 3D Classics will also be available. You can play NES games in 3D!!!!!!!!!!! Road Racer anyone?

The design of the eShop will also be different since Iwata-san have felt that the Wii Shop and the Dsi shop are slow because it is based in internet technology. Expect a faster browsing experience in the eShop without suffering content.
