Okay. I am not saying that the life of the DS will end in March. But when the 3DS hits the stores, expect a drop of games being developed and published for the DS. It has quite a ride since it became available in 2004.
After 6 years, after becoming the second most successful gaming console behind the Playstation 2, the curtains will draw close for the Nintendo DS.
The Nintendo DS is the first gaming console I bought with my money, and the first thing I bought with my first paycheck. Maybe that is one reason why I am particularly attached to it. I never like the PSP though we have one at home. I still cannot like the simplicity of Ipod games. I will always look back to the Nintendo DS as that dude who stays with me during sleepless nights when my ex-girlfriend dumped me, when my current girlfriend plays Mario Kart with me, when I am on the bus.
I have a lot of memories with the Nintendo DS, and I will never sell it and continue to play games as long as the games are available.
The 3DS is coming and it promises better results over its predecessor. I will be one of those who will buy the handheld. The Nintendo DS brought the fun back in gaming. And the 3DS will ride on the DS' popularity before it stands on its own.
