Is Animal Crossing For You?

While we are still waiting for Animal Crossing: New Leaf to come to our shores, in Japan, the game has become so big that it is still in the media charts and will be partnering with Seven Eleven to bring original items in the game. Let's take a look at some of them:

In the meantime though. Various discussions on Reddit have appeared asking people if Animal Crossing is for them or not. Like the Ace Attorney games, Animal Crossing is the kind of game that appeals only to certain demographics. If you're into shooters and only shooters, perhaps this quirky game isn't for you. Here are some of the comments I have found:

"Its a game about paying off your mortgage. Now imagine how boring that sounds; that is how addictive it is." 1

"The difference with AC is that it's more relaxed and doesn't have a set storyline. You pay off your mortgage to get a bigger house to put more furniture in. You aim to find all the fish so you can get the Golden fishing rod which makes catching fish easier. It's all the same just paced differently. And that's just scratching the surface of a huge range of things to see and do in the game
TL;DR Animal Crossing is, in essence, a slow paced RPG. If you like earning stuff to help you earn more stuff you'll like Animal Crossing." 2

"The Animal Crossing games are the most peaceful games I've ever played. I've spent so many hours just fishing, collecting bugs, or planting trees. It's just a really good way to chill out." 3

"It's just a really relaxing game. You can play it for a few minutes, or for hours. There are many things to collect. There's a museum that you can donate to with fossils, bugs, art, and fish. You can customize your house, design clothes, etc. There are holidays and fun little competitions throughout the year. You can talk to the villagers, or just do your own thing.
If you prefer games that include enemies, bosses, dungeons, etc., this might not be the game for you. But if you like having a game that you can play on the go and just get immersed in the world and music, then it might be for you.
I recommend looking up some videos on it on Youtube." 4

To sum up, if you are someone who has played Animal Crossing before, then this is a game for you. You know what's better? When the demo comes out, I recommend downloading it. Try the game first before you buy.

In the meantime, help this site by buying Animal Crossing: New Leaf on Play-Asia!
