Looks like Square Enix is clearly not finished with the franchise yet as revealed by Tatsuya Kando, director of The World Ends With You, a previously Nintendo DS exclusive game that got ported to the iPhone and the iPad.

At least that is what this clipping mentioned as translated by Anime News Network. There are more plans for the franchise other than the iOS port which already received a mixed response from the loyalists, while being praised by arguably a lot of people too.

So what would it be? An Android port? A sequel? Square Enix is pretty famous for announcing projects long before they even start them. But hey, they make it up by providing quality, mind you, and I expect the next game in The World Ends With You to be very good as well.
