Smash Bros 3DS Will Go Retro? [Rumor]

Interesting article. It looks like the 2 Smash Bros. games that are in development right now, one for the Wii U and the other for the Nintendo 3DS, will not be identical with one another. What's more is that their focus will also be entirely different with each other.

According to this commenter at Zelda Informer, the next Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 3DS will be called Super Smash Bros. Memories and will feature iconic characters like Pac-man, Donkey Kong Jr., among a few. while the one for the Wii U will feature modern characters,

But what is modern and old characters in video games? I assume that these modern characters are those that have been created in the year 2000s + while the retro will be pre-2000. But Mario is a character of old, and has been rehash in such a way that he feels so modern meshed with this old feel that you we have come to love.

And besides Sakurai noted before that there may not be new characters for the next Smash Bros. since the franchise has enough characters to expound upon.

Nevertheless, we'll know more when enough information about the game is available. Us Nintendo fans can wait patiently. :)
