A Pokemon 3DS Rumor I Can't Ignore

This might be just a rumor mill or really something else, but we all know how this will all end up - a Pokemon 3DS game. It's unlikely that the franchise will miss the Nintendo 3DS. That's for sure. But the rumors just keeps everyone excited:

Mainline 3DS Pokemon game needs roughly two more years before it’s released. Uses a full 3D engine and will have a story dealing with a world wide crisis. A new Pokemon type will be introduced (has not been done since Gold and Silver) and while not as many new Pokemon as in past gens older Pokemon will get new abilities and forms. Will maximize the Nintendo 3DS use of 3D, StreetPass and online connectivity. The first NFC game for Wii U will be a next gen Battrio game coming out in all regions.

Using a full 3D-engine? Yes please. How about a new Pokemon type? Yes! This might open new battle strategies and a fully revised Pokemon team. I don't know much about maximizing the use of Streetpass since it has already been implemented though, but a new online mechanic might just keep everything fresh.

And how about that Battrio game?

Pokémon Battrio (ポケモンバトリオ, Pokémon Batorio) is a one- or two-player arcade game released in Japan in 2007. It uses cel-shaded graphics reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. It is the first and currently only arcade game in the Pokémon series. It is unknown whether this game will be released outside Japan or on other systems.
