We're days away from the release of Pokemon Conquest in the U.S. and Siliconera posted a wonderful playtest of the game. There are brand new details regarding the gameplay that we don't know before and can only get you excited into playing the game. You can all check these exciting tidbits plus details on where to buy the game after the break!
The game, as you know, is an SRPG. You put the Pokemon in the field and take turms. You can move the Pokemon up to a specific space that it can reach based on its speed.
You can use a Warrior Skill that can actually do something that will make the game in your favor. I kind of remember the CO powers n Advance Wars. In Pokemon Conquest, these Warrior skills actually not always do that turning-in-you-favor thing, but it helps in dire situations perhaps.
- The Pokemon have skills, they can also use an item.
- Not all Pokemon can attack on an enemy in the adjacent space. Some Pokemon can only attack an enemy that is 2 spaces from them. This is reminiscient of the artillery in Advance Wars. And also the Javelin owners in Fire Emblem that can attack two spaces away from them.
- There is no levelling up, However, there are links. Link your warrior with the right Pokemon and this right combination can perfectly work well in your favor. Warriors also evolve, and therefore can have higher links. It is important who is linking to what Pokemon as there are numerous number of Warriors and Pokemon.
There are times where the objective of the game is not to defeat all Pokemon but other ways - such as capturing the flag among others. Clearly Pokemon Conquest is another gem in the Pokemon franchise. While Black and White 2 are months away for us non-Japanese to get our hands on, Pokemon Conquest will be released in June 18 in North America. Preorder your copy now.
