Fire Emblem Arises as a Nintendo Franchise

Who is the biggest Fire Emblem fan? Me? Nah, but my heart goes out to happiness when Nintendo reported that there will be a Fire Emblem for the 3DS. Today at Nintendo Direct, we were all treated to some information about the game, and our Nintendo 3DS blog will finally get a chance to run a story about it.

It's going to be called Fire Emblem: Awakening

The new game in the series will feature the same gameplay and free map system of the past. First for a handheld console however, is that the animations will be in 3D environment like the one in the Wii.

Andriasang posted an article about Fire Emblem: Awakening getting to have paid downloadable content in the future. However, Satoru Iwata did not mention this at all at Nintendo Direct earlier today. I guess he just said all the good stuff to get the most positive reaction online. But whatever. This is still Fire Emblem and it's all the good news fans of the series want

Fire Emblem: Awakening for the Nintendo 3DS will hit Japan next year.
