The Nintendo 3DS Hits the 4 Million Mark

Whoever said that the Nintendo 3DS is a joke? Some months ago, while this blog is sleeping, the company that Mario built initiated drastic changes that saw 2 cuts - the price of the handheld and the salary of Nintendo president Satoru Iwata.

But 2 Mario titles and 1 Monster Hunter 3G later, the Nintendo 3DS, surprisingly, becomes exciting again.

And what does surprising mean? I tell you - 4 million units. Yes, the troubled handheld of before has become the most successful console in the span of 6 weeks, and Nintendo is not stopping the onslaught. The Playstation Vita came, saw, and did not even matched the sales of the 3DS up to this point in time. It remains to be seen what measures Sony will put for the handheld.

But for now, as 2011 closes, Mario is celebrating. Next year is going to be another exciting year for this generation's handheld consoles.
