As reported by Wired (who seems to cover this game in detail,) the players can send their data via the Internet and will be collected at the Tohoku University Institute for Development, Aging, and Cancer for scientific research. Dr. Ryuta Kawashima, the brains behind the Brain Age series is a key staff in the aforementioned university.
This is perhaps one way for Nintendo to test if the game, which improves your working memory, really helps people to do that. This research will back it up. I'm pretty sure that a future press release of Nintendo will tell us the effects of Brain Age to people who have played it. Sounds like a Science paper to me.
Five Minute Demon Training will be released in Japan on July 28. More about this game by checking out N-Handhelds Nintendo 3DS News Blog!
