This Week in Japan - Kid Icarus: Uprising Soars at Number 1

We have a very interesting week in Japan's video game charts this week. A bunch of new releases, Nintendo's big three going upward the charts again, and of course, Kid Icarus: Uprising soars at number 1.

Should that be expected? Yes? Masahiro Sakurai have made sure he crafted this game into perfection. He even said he believes everyone will enjoy the game because you can choose what difficulty level you'll like. Well, the Japanese have spoken and the charts are below:

In this week's software sales for the period March 19 - 25, 2012, we have Kid Icarus: Uprising finally debuting at number 1 in the Japanese charts. Taking a look back, it was the first game announced for the Nintendo 3DS. Now it was released to critical and commercial success. We'll see if Pit will fly high next week too.

In other stories, we also see Nintendo's big three - Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, and Monster Hunter 3G ranking up much more sales than the last sales charts. This was mainly because, perhaps, of the release of the new color of the Nintendo 3DS - cobalt blue. Worthy of mention is the lone Nintendo DS game - Pokemon X Nobunaga's Ambition. I still think we'll see more of the crossover game in the charts soon.

The Nintendo 3DS Continues to Dominate

3DS: 94,011
PS3: 25,750
PSP: 19,875
PSV: 10,302
Wii: 9,270
PS2: 1,333
X360: 1,084
DSi LL: 1,058
DSi: 778

In hardware sales, the Nintendo 3DS continues to dominate the charts. Lol. I've usethe word "dominate" a number of times here. But what can I say. Until now, the 3DS is raking up the competition as if it's all that matters in Japan right now.

In the meantime, next week, we'll see Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance in the charts. Where do you think it might be? Number 1? Yes? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

  1. Kid Icarus is one of most wonder-full video game. Because of it's 3D effect, Nintendo 3DS support, gigantic movements and so on.
