Nintendo - Shigeru Miyamoto is Not Retiring

News spread based from Shigeru Miyamoto's interview with wired, that the Super Mario creator is resigning. But just when the news was about to get out of hand about their main guy resigning, Nintendo confirmed that he isn't.

Probably the most influential and most important person in the video game industry, Miyamoto is here to stay.

Ken Toyoda, a spokesman for the company, says that Miyamoto will maintain his position as senior managing director, but he will be reducing his involvement in the development of games to train younger employees at the company. Additionally, he will continue to oversee major titles. - Siliconera
There were other reports suggesting (oh that one from Bloomberg) that Nintendo's stock fell around 2% just because of the news that he would retire. It will really be a bad idea to have your main guy, the guy that created Mario, Zelda, and all those franchises that print money for Nintendo, retire at this point in time when the corporate stocks are down.

But he isn't. He said before that he doesn't have any intention of retiring, saying that even filmakers make movies even before they die.

Again, Shigs is not retiring, but will also try to focus on training the younger Nintendo staff. How cool will it be to get trained by him anyway?

It will be an honor. :)
