It seems that 1-11-11 is a lucky date for DS gamers as two key titles are going to be released today! - Disney and Square-Enix' Kingdom Hearts Re:coded and Capcom's Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective.
In Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, Jiminy Crickett's journal gets digitized in order to find the clue hidden in a sentence that Jiminy was sure he did not write himself. In doing this, a data form of Sora was created from the book itself in order to find it.
In this game you play as a digital version of Sora as he travels in the journal fixing bugs while restoring the worlds back to normal. Kingdom Hearts Re:coded will still be in action-RPG style like 358/2 days and will feature some new elements that was implemented in Birth By Sleep.
In Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, you will play the role of a ghost who, with his power to travel back in time and transfer his spirit from one piece of material to another will save innocent lives as he uncovers the mystery of his own death.
Ghost Trick takes a unique place in my heart since the game's creator, Shu Takumi was the director of the Ace Attorney series, one of the best series of games so far in the Nintendo DS. In Takumi's new venture, I can sense some Ace Attorney feel in it although that feeling was only in the music and the point n'click n' read style that you will do in the game.
As for me, it looks like I will be spending some of my time with this two games for most of January and February, that is until Okamiden comes. Dragon Quest is will be standing by too next month! Looks like the DS will really end on a high note don't you agree? :)
