The hottest topic in the Fire Emblem community is dead simple - will Fire Emblem: Awakening for the Nintendo 3DS ever get a release in North America?
Too many things are pointing to a conclusion that it will be released. One is Nintendo of America's domain registration for fireemblemawakening.com. Now, Nintendo does this most of the time to prevent domain squatters and also to protect their IP. We can say that this is just not a strong case that can be viewed as a hint for a localized Fire Emblem: Awakening.
BUT we've seen that before right? Nintendo registered thelaststory.com and xenobladechronicles.com at the height of Operation Rainfall's campaign and the entire community who supported the release of these JRPGs. And guess what, months later, we have news of the release of these games in North America. Case in point - domain registration is the first hint at localization.

But again, we should exercise caution before getting excited. Why? There is another Fire Emblem game for the Nintendo DS which never got a release outside Japan. I'm talking about Fire Emblem - New Mystery of the Emblem ~ Heroes of Light and Shadow (pic is from Serene Forest from the previous link). This particular game was released in 2010 in Japan but years have passed and NOA is mum if ever they will release it. At this point in time, it seems impossible. There's a fan translation currently in the works. Who knows, they might pull a Mother 3.
My point is that, just like The Last Story and Xenoblade Chronicles before it, Fire Emblem: Awakening may be coming to North America but it will be long after Europe gets it. If you think about it closely, at least in my opinion, the fact that it will come is okay in my thoughts. At least it'll not be released at the same time as the big titles that will be push for a release this year.
Do you think Fire Emblem: Awakening will get a North American Release?
