Nintendo 3DS Reaches 5 Million in Japan

The Nintendo 3DS is now standing at 5 milliom strong in Japan.

Andriasang reported that the system reaches the 5 million mark after its release 52 weeks earlier on February 26, 2011. It should also be noted that the Nintendo DS and the Game Boy Advance held that record in their respective lifetime.

While this can be a cause for celebration for Nintendo, it should be noted that despite the surge of Nintendo 3DS sales, Nintendo is still at a loss. Perhaps we can look into the next fiscal year if things will turn out fine for the company which is now struggling to protect its business model.
