Monster Hunter 3G, What Can You Expect? Monster Hunter 3G Features

A lot, definitely. Capcom is putting a lot in Monster Hunter 3G so that it can justify the "no online" feature yet still be very much enjoyable by Monster Hunter gamers.

Let us see what Monster Hunter 3G can offer.

  • Weapons - there are 12 weapon types all in all - the light and heavy bowgun, the bow, the gun lance, the switch axe, the hammer, the lance, the hunting horn, the dual sword, the long sword, the sword and shield, and the great sword. Monster Hunter Tri also has the same weapon types but it's great to know that 3G has that as well.

  • Monsters from previous titles - it is what it states, monsters from Monster Hunter Portable 3rd and other titles will also be featured in 3G. Atleast you will now get the chance to kill them ala- 3D.
  • New Subspecies - What's with a new title if there aren't new monsters right? Well, Monster Hunter 3G has been packed with new monsters and subspecies. For example, the Jinouga subspecies and the white Lagiacrus subspecies shown below.

  • Bracchidios - A brute wyvern, Bracchidios is a new monster and the flagship monster of Monster Hunter 3G. He even appears in the cover of the box above.
  • Downloadable Quests - As N-Handhelds posted before, there will be no online play but you can still connect online to download quests. Pretty smart move if Capcom expects it will not have the same level of success in Japan. But I don't know in Japan. Anyway, let's hope the downloadable quests will be a successful trade-off.
  • 3DS Bundle - Yep, there are fantastic bundles for Monster Hunter 3G in Japan. I don't if it will come overseas.
  • The Streetpass feature - Oh well, if you meet other players, you can exchange cards with them and then meet them somewhere in the game, once you have, you can ask them to do a quest they already finished and they will come back with a reward to be given back to you.
  • Companions and new masks- Monster Hunter 3G also has companions and this time, there will be two of them. There are also new masks which can make them have new abilities.

  • The Famitsu Axe - In the latest update from Siliconera, they posted about the Famitsu Axe, the slash fox, which can be obtained when the player completes a downloadable quest. But I don't know if it will also be downloadable when the game gets released overseas.

And wait, will it actually be released outside Japan?

Monster Hunter 3G is the definitive Monster Hunter title for the Nintendo 3DS. Capcom reported that it will get released in Japan on December 10. That is like, almost 10 days from now. Look it has a black side cover, which means this is something that is not for kids, but hey, is the 3DS for 3 year olds?

I know it will be enjoyed by everyone. :)
